From the, “optimism reigns supreme department,” Saskatchewan Roughriders head coach Craig Dickenson said Wednesday they feel like quarterback Cody Fajardo “should be” good to go for Friday’s home game against Toronto.
Because Wednesday’s practice was closed to the media and public, Dickenson reported that Fajardo took two-thirds of the first team snaps today after taking half of them on Tuesday. Fajardo is still in concussion protocol so the Green and White will continue to monitor his symptoms throughout the week as his workload gradually increases. In addition, the Riders say safety Mike Edem and defensive lineman Garrett Marino will miss Friday’s game against the Argos due to injury. The Saskatchewan roster and depth chart will be released Thursday morning with all the changes.
Meanwhile, for the second time this week, the Roughriders brought back and re-signed a player they released during training camp in July. Import linebacker Jeremy Clark was signed Wednesday and placed on the Green and White’s suspended list while he completes his COVID-19 quarantine. On Monday, the Riders announced the re-signing of import linebacker Michael Pinckney to the practice roster. Following is the news release from the Roughriders…..

ROUGHRIDERS SIGN DEFENSIVE BACK JEREMY CLARK
The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed American defensive back Jeremy Clark.
Clark (6’3-220lbs) returns to the Roughriders after attending camp with the Club this summer. In 2020 Clark played five games with the XFL’s Seattle Dragons making 10 tackles including two tackles for a loss, one interception and three pass deflections. Prior to playing in the XFL, Clark was a sixth-round draft pick (197th overall) for the New York Jets, where he spent time on both the active roster and practice roster in 2018 and 2019 and played in two games.
The 26-year-old Kentucky native played five collegiate seasons at the University of Michigan, where he made 49 tackles, nine pass breakups, and three interceptions over 36 games.
Clark will be moved to the Club’s suspended list while he completes his COVID-19 quarantine.
