Saskatchewan is reporting 475 new cases of COVID-19, of which 104 are children under 12, the most of any of the nine demographic groups listed on the province’s website. Saskatchewan surpassed 60,000 total cases of COVID-19 and 4,000 active cases of the novel coronavirus in Wednesday’s update, which also included two virus-related deaths and 387 recoveries.
Since the pandemic was declared just over 18 months ago, Saskatchewan has had 60,149 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 55,504 recoveries and 629 deaths. That leaves 4,016 active cases in the province, the most since their were 4,156 active cases on January 19. There are 224 hospitalized cases, including 40 people in an I-C-U.
Highlights
- As of September 15th, there are 475 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 60,149 reported cases
- The new cases are located in the Far North West (19), Far North Central (4), Far North East (47), North West (61), North Central (41), North East (23), Saskatoon (118), Central West (8), Central East (25), Regina (36), South West (17), South Central (10) and South East (25) zones and 41 new cases have pending residence information.
- 42 cases with pending residence information were reassigned to Far North West (September 12 (1)), Far North East (September 8 (5), September 9 (1), September 10 (1), September 12 (4)), North Central (September 11 (2), September 13 (4)), North West (September 10 (1), September 11 (1), September 12 (5), September 13 (9)), Saskatoon (September 13 (6)), Central East (September 13 (1)), and Regina (September 12 (1)) zones.
- Two (2) SK resident tested out-of-province have been added to the case counts in Regina (from September 13 (1)), and
- South East (from September 13 (1)) zones
- One repeat case with pending residence information was removed from case counts on September 13, 2021.
- 60,149 cases are confirmed

- 14,264 cases are from the North area (5,989 North West, 6,090 North Central, and 2,185 North East)
- 12,798 cases are from the Regina area
- 7,484 cases are from the Far North area (3,507 Far North West, 520 Far North Central, 3,457 Far North East)
- 6,802 cases are from the South area (1,399 South West, 2,151 South Central, and 3,252 South East)
- 3,863 cases are from the Central area (1,069 Central West, 2,794 Central East)
- 399 cases have pending residence information
- 4,016 cases are considered active and 55,504 cases are considered recovered
- Over one-third (34.9%) of new cases are in the 19 years and under age category
- More than one in seven (15.2%) new cases were fully vaccinated
- As of September 15th, a total of 224 individuals are hospitalized; including 184 inpatient hospitalizations and 40 ICU hospitalizations. Of the 224 patients, 169 (75.4%) were not fully vaccinated
- Two (2) new deaths reported today. 629 Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died with a case fatality rate of 1.0%
- 1,074,354 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province. As of September 13th, 2021, when other provincial and national numbers are available from PHAC, Saskatchewan’s per capita rate was 903,915 tests performed per million population. The national rate was 1,096,398 tests performed per million population.
- The 7-day average of new COVID-19 case numbers was 416 (34.6 new cases per 100,000).
