While mandatory masking indoors may be going into effect today province-wide, the City of Saskatoon reminds residents that wearing a mask on Saskatoon Transit, and when accessing indoor City-operated facilities, was approved municipally by City Council back on August 30th. The difference is that it is now required and enforceable under the provincial public health order.
Those under 18 are exempt for indoor youth athletics. Masking in venues for youth athletics remains for entry and exit to the facility for both athletes and spectators. The provincial mandatory vaccination or COVID testing requirement goes into effect October 1st and a similar program will go into effect October 4th for municipal staff.
And once the province unveils details around showing proof of vaccination or negative test to access certain establishments, business and event venues, the City will determine the impact on civic facilities programs and services.
