The province reported a record-high 543 more on Sunday and one new death. The active case count is now at 4,586. Of the 543 cases, 440 were unvaccinated including 132 in the 0-11 age group. Saskatoon accounts for about a quarter, or 1,186, of the active cases.
The new cases are located in the Far North West (26), Far North East (15), North West (64), North Central (70), North East (48), Saskatoon (149), Central West (8), Central East (28), Regina (47), South West (24), South Central (19) and South East (26) zones and 19 new cases have pending residence information.
There are 249 people in hospital related to COVID-19 in Saskatchewan, including 55 patients in intensive care. These are both record highs as well.
The seven-day average for daily new cases is 484, or 40.2 per 100,000 people.
4,522 vaccines were administered Saturday with 2,649 of them being first doses.
Saskatchewan saw nearly 1,000 new cases of COVID-19 this weekend. There were also 439 cases on Saturday.
