A group that has been urging the provincial government to take action to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 appreciates last week’s announcement that masking in public indoor spaces is back and vaccine mandates begin October 1st, but Concerned Citizens for COVID Action say there is more to be done. The group held a rally on 8th Street in Saskatoon outside Health Minister Paul Merriman’s office on September 8th.
A news release from the group says there are still concerns about no transparent triage protocol should healthcare capacity become overwhelmed. Spokesperson Theresa MacKinnon says it was unacceptable for the government to lift all the restrictions on July 11th and then not step them back this summer as the numbers began to rise.
