The fact that they traveled west, and gained an hour with the time change between Saskatchewan and B-C, allowed the Roughriders to hold their day-before-a-game walk through at Mosaic Stadium instead of on the home turf of their opponent.
The Green and White also released their roster and depth chart for Friday night’s game. Veteran defensive back Ed Gainey returns from a two-game absence because of a toe injury. As expected, Loucheiz Pufiroy gets the start at safety, meaning the Riders are going with an all-import secondary. Saskatoon product Brett Boyko starts at left tackle for injured Andrew Lauderdale. A-J Hendy joins Lauderdale on the one-game injured list. In addition, Paxton Lynch comes on the roster as a third quarterback.
One other note, Saskatchewan signed import defensive lineman Nick Coe today. The Auburn grad was initially signed as an undrafted free agent by New England before spending all the 2020 season on Miami’s N-F-L practice roster.
Friday is the Roughriders’ second and final meeting of the season with the Lions. Both teams are 4-2, tied for second place in the C-F-L West with the Riders having won the first meeting 33-29 at home on the opening weekend. Following is the news release from the Riders…..

ROUGHRIDERS ADD AMERICAN DEFENSIVE LINEMAN NICK COE
The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed American defensive lineman Nick Coe.
Coe (6’5-285lbs) was initially signed as an undrafted free agent by the New England Patriots in 2020. In September, he joined the Miami Dolphins’ practice roster in where he spent the entire 2020 season.
Collegiately, Coe spent four years at Auburn playing in 36 games. By the end of his time as a Tiger, the versatile lineman was able to play every position on the defensive line as well as outside linebacker. The 24-year-old North Carolina native redshirted his first season then went on to make 71 career tackles, 21 tackles for loss, nine sacks, two force fumbles and one pass deflection over his next three.
Davis will be moved to the Club’s suspended list while he completes his COVID-19 quarantine.
