Saskatoon City Council will discuss the idea of keeping parking patios year round during their regular monthly meeting today (mon). Currently, parking patios are only allowed from April 1st to October 31st. City administration says extended operation in March, April, May, October and November are the primary benefit of permitting winter parking patios, given that a business can take advantage of the patio when warm weather occurs. A pilot project last year saw permits issued for 7 parking patios, with 3 operating during the winter.
Also up for discussion at City Hall is whether or not to add five new names to the master list for naming streets, parks and other civic places. Soccer player Kaylyn Kyle and teacher Cheryl Hill-Hampson are among the names up for discussion.
