A single day high for new COVID-19-related deaths while the seemingly-daily breaking of hospitalized novel coronavirus people records, including a record number of infections being treated in an I-C-U, is what jumped off the dashboard on the Government of Saskatchewan website Tuesday.
Ten provincial residents died due to a positive case of COVID-19 in the latest update, bringing the total since the pandemic began to 682. There were 22 more cases admitted to hospital Tuesday, compared to Monday, for a total of 311, including 65 people in an I-C-U in Saskatchewan.
Despite that, for a second straight day, there were more recoveries reported compared to new cases of the virus in the province, 490 recoveries and 449 new cases, leaving 4,734 active cases, down 54 from Monday. There were only 648 doses of vaccine administered Monday along with 4,249 COVID-19 tests taken.

- Nearly one-third (31%) of new cases are in the age category of 20 to 39
- One in six (16.8%) of new cases eligible for vaccination (aged 12 years and older) were fully vaccinated
- As of September 28th, a total of 311 individuals are hospitalized; including 246 inpatient hospitalizations, and 65 ICU hospitalizations. Of the 311 patients eligible for vaccination, 240 (77.2%) were not fully vaccinated.

- From September 22 – 28, 25,789 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,549,338.
- As of September 28, 80 per cent of those 12+ have received their first dose and 72 per cent of those 12+ are fully vaccinated.
- There were 3,303 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan from September 22 – 28, bringing the provincial total to 66,343 cases. Three thousand two hundred and eighty-four recoveries were recorded during the same period.
- The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan is currently 472 (39.2 per 100,000).
