The Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority of Saskatchewan (FCAA) says the bond issued to MacNeil Motors Inc. has been demanded and paid.
A bond is a licensing requirement for vehicle dealers in Saskatchewan. It is a sum of money that a bonding company agrees to pay if the licensee does not follow specific rules outlined in The Consumer Protection and Business Practices Act.
Consumers who have suffered a financial loss as a result of their vehicle transaction with MacNeil Motors may be eligible to file a claim for compensation. Details on how to pursue compensation are in our online story.
To determine claim eligibility, consumers should gather supporting documentation and contact the Consumer Protection Division via email vehicledealers@gov.sk.ca or phone 306-787-5550. Claims must be submitted by October 20, 2021.
