Today is a statutory holiday for the City of Saskatoon however collection of garbage, recycling and organics will continue as scheduled. But keep in mind as of October 1st, which is tomorrow, bi-weekly collections begin for garbage.

The landfill is open 7:30 am to 5:30 p.m. while the West Compost Depot is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and the East Compost Depot is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Fixed route and On-Demand Transit will operate regular hours today.

You will still have to pay for parking on National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park and Zoo, city run golf courses, leisure centres and indoor arenas will all operate with regular hours of operation.

From 1-3pm, the City of Saskatoon says to show support and honour residential school survivors, their families, and those who never made it home it is hosting a free public swim event at Harry Bailey Aquatic Centre.
