The province is reporting another 470 cases of COVID-19 today (Fri), which is down from Thursday’s report of 602, but a month ago on September 1st, there were 327 new cases and on August 1st, there were 44. Just under one-third (32.8%) of new cases are in their twenties. Another 5 people who tested positive for the virus have died, for a total now of 700 since the beginning of the pandemic.
The number of patients in the hospital with COVID-19 has risen to 313, and 68 of those are in an ICU. Just over 74 per cent of those in the hospital with the virus aren’t fully vaccinated. Another 5,574 doses of vaccine were given on Thursday and 3,861 tests were administered.

- The new cases are located in the Far North West (18), Far North Central (1), Far North East (11), North West (44), North Central (48), North East (17), Saskatoon (85), Central West (12), Central East (32), Regina (83), South West (23), South Central (33) and South East (37) zones and 26 new cases have pending residence information.
- 18 cases with pending residence information were reassigned to Far North West (from September 29 (5)), North West (September 29 (2)), North Central (September 29 (3)), North East (September 17 (1)), (Saskatoon (September 29 (4)), Central West (September 29 (1)), Central East (September 29 (1)), and South East (September 29 (1)) zones.
- One (1) SK resident tested positive out-of-province was added to the South West (from September 29 (1)) case count.

- Just under one-third (32.8%) of new cases are in the age category of 20 to 39.
- One in six (17.1%) of new cases eligible for vaccination (aged 12 years and older) were fully vaccinated.
- As of October 1, 2021, a total of 313 individuals are hospitalized; including 245 inpatient hospitalizations, and 68 ICU hospitalizations. Of the 313 patients eligible for vaccination, 232 (74.1%) were not fully vaccinated.
- Five (5) new deaths reported today. 700 Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died with a case fatality rate of 1.0%.
- 1,137,955 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province. As of September 28th, 2021, when other provincial and national numbers are available from PHAC, Saskatchewan’s per capita rate was 954,289 tests performed per million. The national rate was 1,137,085 tests performed per million.
- The 7-day average of new COVID-19 case numbers was 479 (39.8 new cases per 100,000).
