The RCMP have arrested and charged three more people in connection to the 2020 suspicious death of 36 year-old Richard Netmaker of the Big River First Nation. In January 2020, police responded to a complaint that Netmaker had been abducted from his home on the First Nation and assaulted. A few days later, his body was located in a rural area about 35 kilometres south of Big River. In July of this year, Karlyne Morin was arrested and charged with criminal negligence causing death and two counts of forcible confinement. Riley Ahenakew, Stephanie Starblanket and Roderick Dreaver have now been arrested and charged in relation to the incident. Each are facing 1 count of criminal negligence causing death and two counts of forcible confinement.
