A 22 year old man has been arrested in connection to the Saskatoon Police investigation of a sexual assault on the University of Saskatchewan campus last Wednesday. The female victim reported to officers that a stranger threatened her with a weapon and sexually assaulted her inside a building on Campus Drive. Which building on Campus Drive wasn’t disclosed by police. The incident was reported the next day and communicated to staff and students.
A suspect was identified and as police were trying to find him, there were reports about a robbery and an attempted robbery on Saturday. During the first incident around 9 p.m., a man was threatened and his keys were stolen, then a short time late,r there was at attempted robbery with violence reported. Officers found the suspect inside a nearby business. Police believe the same man is responsible for all three crimes.
The 22 year old is charged with sexual assault with a weapon, forcible confinement, uttering threats and breach of probation.
