A 20-year-old man faces half-a-dozen charges involving weapons, illicit drugs and obstruction of justice after being found in possession of a firearm on Sunday afternoon.

The Saskatoon Police Service received a report of a man handling a firearm in the 1300 block of 20th Street West at about 3:40 p.m. on October 3.

A man matching the description of the call was found by officers in the area to be allegedly in possession of a firearm.

At the time of his arrest, the man was also found to have an expandable baton and methamphetamine with him. Plus, it was determined he was under the influence of an intoxicant.
