As of October 30th, federally regulated air, rail and marine transportation sectors will be required to be vaccinated. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says that means all employees and all travelers. This is part of the government’s plans to require COVID-19 vaccinations across the federal public service and federally regulated transportation sectors.
The Prime Minister adds there will be a few, limited exceptions, like a valid medical condition, but for the vast majority of people the rules are simple – to travel you have got to be vaccinated. Trudeau also says a vaccination passport for international travelers is on the way.
There will be a short period where those in the process of getting vaccinated can show a negative COVID-19 test, but by the end of November if you are 12 and older, if you want to fly in Canada or take the train, you will have to be vaccinated.
The government is working with industry and key partners to put a strict vaccine requirement in place for cruise ships before the cruise season begins next year.
