Fire crews were called to a two-storey care home in the 1500 block of 37th Street West around 4:30 Friday morning as alarms were sounding off, although there was no sign of smoke or fire. Once crews arrived on scene, they proceeded to check the alarm system while another team did a carbon monoxide test. Readings from the basement showed up to 65ppm with the highest reading coming from the mechanical room. SaskEnergy was then notified. Residents were assessed by fire paramedics for CO poisoning but no one showed any symptoms. Two furnaces in the facility were shut off and windows were open to help with ventilation. The scene was then handed over the SaskEnergy.
