Beginning October 15th, proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours will be required for those ages 12 and older within all City of Saskatoon leisure centres and indoor ice rinks. City Council approved the new measures during a special meeting Friday. In a news release, the City of Saskatoon said an initial review of the Public Health Order determined that proof of vaccination or a negative test was required to use “dryland” areas within the City’s leisure centres such as fitness and weight rooms, gymnasiums, tracks, sports courts and metting rooms. The Public Health Order did not apply to aquatic programs and areas and private gatherings held at public venues including meeting rooms and multi-purpose rooms. The new measures do not apply to those accessing the Saskatoon Public Library. The City says the proof of vaccination policy will be an added safety measure to complement the Provincial Public Health Order, to reduce confusion for customers and to address the increasing spread of COVID in the community.
Acceptable proof of vaccination forms include:
– Wallet cards issued at the time of immunization
– A printed copy of your MySaskHealthRecord vaccine certificate with or without a QR code or a screenshot of your vaccine certificate with or without the QR code
– A COVID-19 vaccine printout from the Saskatchewan Health Authority
– A QR code/MySaskHealthRecord vaccine certificate uploaded to SK Vax Wallet app.
– Official proof of vaccine documents from other governments
