Five-hundred-and-seven people have tested positive for COVID-19, from the provincial government’s Sunday update, and there have been 601 recoveries. Another person who tested positive has died, for a total now of 747 since the beginning of the pandemic.
The number of people in the hospital with COVID-19 has increased by one and sits at 303, with 79 of those in an ICU. Almost 76 per cent of those hospitalized with the virus have not been fully vaccinated.
The age category with the highest number of confirmed cases of the virus is 20 to 39 year olds with 25,561 to date. The second highest is 19 and under, with 20,077.

- As of October 9, a total of 333 individuals are hospitalized; including 254 inpatient hospitalizations, and 79 ICU hospitalizations. Of the 333 patients, 252 (75.7%) were not fully vaccinated
- One (1) new death reported today. 747 Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died with a case fatality rate of 1.0%
- 1,172,323 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province. As of October 7, 2021, when other provincial and national numbers are available from PHAC, Saskatchewan’s per capita rate was 983,085 tests performed per million. The national rate was 1,162,631 tests performed per million.
- The 7-day average of new COVID-19 case numbers was 486 (40.3 new cases per 100,000.)
