COVID-19 has been stressful on everyone but more so for front-line healthcare workers who have gone above and beyond.
One of those workers is paramedic Amber Lockert.
She is part of a new campaign from the Saskatchewan Health Authority called “Faces of the Fight” where those in the field talk about the difficulties the stresses and difficulties they have had because of the pandemic.
She says she has done her part in stopping the spread of COVID by following the protocols, showing up to work and putting sick people before herself and that the stress many have is immense.
Lockert sees a lot of burnt out health care workers doing their best and trying to give their all to patients, but she admits the stress does start to take a toll.
Lockert’s message for those who have vaccine hesitancy is to stop and think about the health-care system that is overwhelmed and if you become sick with this disease or an other major health problems such as a heart attack; are you going to want us to help you or a loved one in your time of need.
