A seven-year-old girl has died after being struck by a vehicle on Highway 5, about 10 kilometres west of Wadena, on Monday evening.
Wadena R-C-M-P attended to the call of the vehicle-pedestrian accident at about 7:35 p.m. on October 11.
The driver of the eastbound vehicle remained at the scene and called for emergency assistance.
The girl was pronounced deceased with E-M-S and local fire personnel responding in addition to Wadena R-C-M-P. Highway 5 was closed for about five hours while Wadena R-C-M-P and the Saskatchewan R-C-M-P Collision Reconstruction unit completed the initial investigation.
The circumstances of the incident continues to be looked into.
