Corman Park Police Service says one of their officers patrolling on Township Road 384 west of Dalmeny Road around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday morning came across a vehicle parked on the side of the road.
The officer says the driver was passed out behind the wheel and a check of the vehicle determined it was stolen out of Saskatoon.
A spike belt was placed under the vehicle to ensure the driver wouldn’t wake up and drive off and additional officers responded.
The driver was subsequently arrested and now faces eight charges connected to impaired driving, possession of a controlled substance, possession of stolen property, refusal to comply with demand and possession of a prohibited weapon.
Meanwhile, Tuesday evening a Corman Park Police Officer on patrol had two traffic stops that resulted in multiple criminal charges. A driver was arrested and charged for obstructing a police officer and weapons dangerous to the public. A catalytic converter was also seized.
And on Highway 11 and Township Road 400, a driver was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and obstructing a police officer. Both drivers were suspended from driving and had their vehicles impounded for 30 days.
