Restrictions from COVID-19 were just starting to lift when camping season kicked off and the Government says Saskatchewan Parks have already set records for visitation this year. There have been more than one million visits to the provincial parks in 2021 which surpassed the previous record from 2020.
As well, more than 400,000 camping nights were spent in the parks which broke a record set back in 2016.
While peak camping season in provincial parks is over many parks still have campsites available with reduced services.
Your annual parky entry permit is valid until the end of next April and campers are encouraged to hold on to the permit to take advantage of the winter programming being offered like Christmas tree cutting in Cypress Hills, Festival of Lights tour in Pike Lake and Candle Lake plus snowshoeing, tobogganing and hiking at several other provincial parks over the winter in Saskatchewan.
