Saskatoon Police are investigating a shooting which took place in the 1000 block of Northumberland Avenue around 2:30 Friday afternoon.
When officers arrives, evidence was found that indicated a firearm had been shot. A man who was allegedly in possession of gun was taken into custody at Avenue Y and 33rd Street. No victims have been found.
While the investigation continues in the area, traffic restrictions are in place at Morris Drive and Northumberland Avenue, and that remains the case as of late Friday afternoon.
Police say the incident took place in front of a school, which was put into lockdown as a precaution, but the incident is not believed to be connected to the school. Vincent Massey Community School’s address 1001 Northumberland Avenue.
