SaskPower’s $18-million power line upgrade, previously known as the Sutherland Power Line, has been delayed.
The project has been renamed the Preston Crossing Power Line and the upgrade was to accommodate growth near the University of Saskatchewan (USask) in Saskatoon.
The project was to begin with foundation work in August 2021, but the Crown power company says it is experiencing a resourcing issue when a subcontractor became unavailable just prior to the work beginning.
There is no new time-line for the upgrade however, prior to construction starting, SaskPower will provide another update to give advance notice of any traffic delays.
