The City of Meadow Lake, through the Municipal Police Grants program in 2021-22, will receive $770,000 from the Ministry of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety to support seven exisitng police positions in Meadow Lake.
Meadow Lake Mayor Merlin Seymour says, “This grant funding allows us to support our busy detachment as they respond to local challenges. We appreciate the efforts our local officers have put toward gang suppression and know that this funding will help them continue this important work.”
The Ministry of Corrections and Policing provides funds to police services across Saskatchewan through the Municipal Police Grants program to support 133 municipal police positions and targeted policing initiatives.
