Saskatoon Police say they have made an arrest in the death of a toddler that happened last year.

Around 11:30 am on July 8, 2020, police responded to a report of an unresponsive two year old boy in the 100 block of Avenue T South.

The child was taken to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

A 37 year old woman is charged with second degree murder.

Police say the charges and arrest culminated from a lengthy investigation that involved the Saskatoon Police Service Child Abuse Unit and Ministry of Social Services and in consultation with medical professionals and Crown Prosecutors.
