Finally, it’s my Parting Shot for my Weekend Short Shots, disguised as The Fearless Predictor’s Week 13 picks…..
Once again, I was better than .500 in Week 12 and missed out on a perfect week, but since I didn’t have the Riders beating Calgary, I’m not unhappy!
Week 13 starts with a Friday Night Football doubleheader, beginning with Calgary at Ottawa. The Stampeders had their run up the West standings derailed a bit by Saskatchewan. The RedBlacks are officially eliminated from the playoffs, fired their G-M and their quarterback situation is a mess. Yes, the Stamps will win, but it will be by less than a field goal!
Friday’s second contest has Hamilton in Edmonton. This is a similar situation to the first game, except the Tiger-Cats are trying to get up into a home playoff position while the Elks are floundering with quarterback issues of their own. The Ticats will prevail by less than a touchdown!
The Saturday doubleheader begins with B-C in Toronto. The Lions are in desperate need of a win to keep their playoff hopes alive while the Argonauts are tied with Montreal for top spot in the East. Neither team has been overly impressive of late, but home-field will be the difference as the Argos win by less than a field goal!
That leaves the Roughriders in Montreal. This is another game that promises to be close. The Alouettes have won four straight and are tied for top spot in the East. The Green and White found a way to win in Calgary and still aren’t firing on all cylinders as they can on offence. I’ve got the Als by less than a field goal.
My 3-1 effort last week got me to .500 for the year for the first time at 23-23. It’s time to be right more often than I’m wrong!
That’s my Parting Shot. I’m Les Lazaruk on the road in Lethbridge…..
