Saskatoon Police say they were called to the 1100 block of Avenue W North around 2:30 a.m. after receiving a report of a man who had assaulted residents inside a building.

Officers say their investigation indicated a suspect had been involved in a fight with the male victim and when a woman present tried to intervene she was also assaulted.

A 47 year old man and a 49 year old woman were transported to hospital with serious but non life threatening injuries.

A suspect was located and arrested around 2:45 a.m. this morning. A 54 year old man is facing charges of Aggravated Assault and Assault.
