Saskatchewan reported 189 new cases of COVID-19 Saturday. The Regina zone accounted for 43 of the new infections followed by Saskatoon with 40. Four new coronavirus-related deaths were reported in the daily update on the Government of Saskatchewan’s dashboard. 850 residents have passed away due to the pandemic in the province. 226 people are receiving hospital care in Saskatchewan with 53 in an ICU. There are an additional 23 Saskatchewan residents in ICUs outside of the province. The seven-day average for new cases is now at 203.

As of October 30th, there are 189 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 77,494 reported cases.
The new cases are located in the Far North West (5), Far North East (2), North West (7), North Central (23), North East (9), Saskatoon (40), Central West (1), Central East (30), Regina (43), South West (4), South Central (3), and South East (19) zones and three (3) new cases have pending residence information.
Four (4) cases with pending residence information were assigned to the North Central (from September 30 (1), October 6 (1)), Saskatoon (from October 28 (1)), and Central East (from October 28 (1)) zones.
One (1) SK resident tested out-of-province was added to the Saskatoon (from October 25 (1)) zone.
One (1) case was removed (reason not specified) from Regina (from June 21 (1)) zone.
77,494 cases are confirmed:
18,953 cases are from the North area (8,419 North West, 7,763 North Central, 2,771 North East)
18,676 cases are from the Saskatoon area
15,233 cases are from the Regina area
9,432 cases are from the South area (2,090 South West, 2,827 South Central, 4,515 South East)
9,097 cases are from the Far North area (4,246 Far North West, 541 Far North Central, 4,310 Far North East)
5,486 cases are from the Central area (1,387 Central West, 4,099 Central East)
617 cases have pending residence information.
2,307 cases are considered active and 74,337 cases are considered recovered.
More than one quarter (29.6%) of new cases are in the age category of 11 and under.
More than one quarter (28.6%) of new cases eligible for vaccination (aged 12 years and older) were fully vaccinated.
As of October 30th, a total of 226 individuals are hospitalized; including 173 inpatient hospitalizations, and 53 ICU hospitalizations. Of the 226 patients, 159 (70.4%) were not fully vaccinated.
In addition to SK ICUs, there are 23 residents in out-of-province ICUs. As these patients are receiving care out of province, this number is not included in the hospitalization counts in dashboard. One (1) out of province patient was repatriated to Saskatchewan October 29 and is now included in the hospitalization (in-patient) statistics in the COVID-19 dashboard.
Four (4) new deaths reported today. 850 Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died with a case fatality rate of 1.1%.
1,224,534 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province. As of October 28, 2021, when other provincial and national numbers are available from PHAC, Saskatchewan’s per capita rate was 1,032,838 tests performed per million population. The national rate was 1,212,788 tests performed per million population.
The 7-day average of new COVID-19 case numbers was 203 (16.8 new cases per 100,000).
