An early Monday morning weapons call, in which a person was found deceased, is now considered the 12th homicide in Regina in 2021.
The Regina Police Service, in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service, is confirming a 16-year-old Regina girl found outside a home in the 1200 block of Rae Street has escalated from a suspicious death to a homicide investigation.
Police responded to a weapons call around 2:06 a.m. on Monday morning.
In addition to the deceased girl, police also located an injured male who was taken to hospital.
