Dr. James Stempien, Saskatchewan Health Authority head of emergency medicine says if people had COVID-19 vaccinations or tested early; recognized their symptoms earlier and isolated themselves, there would be less spread of the virus and therefore fewer sick people and fewer severely sick people.
He says 48.3% of all people in hospital with COVID-19 had a first positive COVID-19 test on or after hospital admission. He points out that the fact they aren’t being diagnosed until they come to hospital means they’ve been at home or with other people while they’ve been positive with COVID.
And if you if you weren’t able to get aCOVID-19 rapid antigen test last week, you can pick up rapid tests at TCU Place in Saskatoon Tuesday.
