Saskatchewan is reporting 188 new cases of COVID-19 Thursday with the Saskatoon zone accounting for 33 of the new infections. No new deaths were included in Thursday’s daily update from the Government of Saskatchewan’s dashboard. 214 people are receiving care in hospital with 49 in an ICU. This morning (thurs), the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency noted that the province had 47 non-COVID ICU patients in hospital for a total of 96 in Saskatchewan ICUs. The seven-day average for new cases is at 170.
Below are the highlights posted to the Government of Saskatchewan website:
- As of November 4th, there are 188 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 78,262 reported cases
- The new cases are located in the Far North West (18), Far North East (3), North West (13), North Central (26), Saskatoon (33), Central East (24), Regina (28), South West (5), South Central (3) and South East (27) zones and eight (8) new cases have pending residence information
- Eight (8) cases with pending residence information were assigned to the Far North West (from October 26 (1)), Far North East (from October 15 (1)), North West (from October 13 (1)), North Central (from October 29 (1), November 2 (3)), and Regina (from November 2 (1)) zones
- One (1) repeated/duplicate case was removed from the North West (from November 2 (1)) zone
- 78,262 cases are confirmed
- 19,133 cases are from the North area (8,493 North West, 7,846 North Central, 2,794 North East)
- 18,850 cases are from the Saskatoon area
- 15,370 cases are from the Regina area
- 9,534 cases are from the South area (2,108 South West, 2,843 South Central, 4,583 South East)
- 9,171 cases are from the Far North area (4,298 Far North West, 541 Far North Central, 4,332 Far North East)
- 5,601 cases are from the Central area (1,395 Central West, 4,206 Central East)
- 603 cases have pending residence information
- 1,782 cases are considered active and 75,618 cases are considered recovered
- More than one-quarter (26.1%) of new cases are in the age category of 11 or under
- Almost two-fifths (38.1%) of new cases eligible for vaccination (aged 12 years and older) were fully vaccinated
- As of November 4th, a total of 214 individuals are hospitalized, including 165 inpatient hospitalizations and 49 ICU hospitalizations. Of the 214 patients, 144 (67.3%) were not fully vaccinated.
- In addition to SK ICUs, there are 24 residents in out-of-province ICUs. As these patients are receiving care out of province, this number is not included in the hospitalization counts in dashboard.
- No (0) new death reported today. 862 Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died, with a case fatality rate of 1.1%.
- 1,234,050 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province. As of November 2, 2021, when other provincial and national numbers are available from PHAC, Saskatchewan’s per capita rate was 1,040,760 tests performed per million population. The national rate was 1,222,946 tests performed per million population.
- As of today, the 7-day average of new COVID-19 case numbers is 170 (14.1 new cases per 100,000)
