During four days at the end of October, Lloydminster RCMP conducted a targeted operation on street level gang activity in the boarder city. From October 25th to the 29th, RCMP from Lloydminster RCMP, the Eastern Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit, the F Division Crime Reduction Team and K Division Air Services arrested 39 people resulting in the execution of 87 outstanding arrest warrants in addition to a number of new charges being laid in relation to street gang activity. Two stolen vehicles were also recovered and a number of controlled substances including cocaine and methamphetamine were seized. Police also seized a sawed-off shotgun, brass knuckles and a throwing star along with other pieces of stolen property.
