Over a hundred people gathered outside of Saskatoon’s TCU Place Saturday for a rally. This all while the Saskatchewan Party were holding their convention inside. The Saskatchewan Federation of Labour had an event planned for around the same time a group known as Concerned Citizens for COVID Action were holding an event in the same place. The groups mingled and their voices calling for more action from the provincial government in the fight against COVID-19 grew louder. Lori Johb, President of the Saskatchewan Federation of Labour says they would like to see gathering restrictions imposed along with going away from allowing people to provide a negative test to enter events and other functions. “We wanted to let Scott Moe know and the entire SaskParty membership and caucus know that we’re completely disappointed in the way way they’ve managed the pandemic. Right from the beginning, they’ve let workers down.” Those from a number of local unions including SGEU and SEIU-West were in attendance.
