During the Saskatchewan Medical Association’s fall representative assembly, three physicians and a medical student were lauded for their achievements and outstanding leadership during the pandemic.
Family physician Dr. Breanna Davis, works in Prince Albert and the Sturgeon Lake First Nation.
She was presented with the SMA Physician of the year award.
Dr. Davis is also the lead for the COVID-19 Assessment Centre and hospital, coordinating physicians in both programs to respond to the pandemic.
The Physician leader of the year is Dr. Michael Bayda, who is a family physician in La Ronge and northern Saskatchewan.
Resident leader of the year is Dr. Amit Persad, a neurosurgery resident in Saskatoon, and the student leader of the year is Carissa McGuinn, a USask student in the College of Medicine.
