Prince Albert City Council will consider a report today (Mon), recommending support for an initiative to reduce homelessness.
It would mean stakeholders across jurisdictions in Prince Albert developing sector-specific solutions.
Partners in the initiative would include housing, mental health, addictions, policing, corrections, courts, business and investment, and various levels of government.
Mayor Greg Dionne says, “The homeless situation has always existed, but it’s escalating to a crisis and we’ve all been witness to it as we see more and more people sleeping on the streets.”
Dr. Chad Nilson from Living Skies Centre for Social Inquiry will lead, support and report on the implementation of the Homelessness Action Initiative.
He will speak at today’s (Mon) Council meeting
