There is a special weather statement in effect for part of Saskatchewan stretching border to border.
Environment Canada says accumulating snow along with the risk of freezing rain is in the works for central Saskatchewan tonight and through Wednesday. We can enjoy one more pleasant fall day in southern and central Saskatchewan today before a low pressure system enters the province tonight.
Snow is expected to begin overnight tonight and continue throughout the day on Wednesday before tapering off Thursday morning. The heaviest snowfall is expected to fall along and north of the Yellowhead highway corridor.
In general, 5-10 cm of snow is expected to fall by Thursday morning with locally higher amounts possible.
Patchy freezing rain is also possible along and to the south of the Yellowhead corridor as well.
