Saskatchewan reported 53 new cases of COVID-19 Saturday, although the low case numbers are contributed to incomplete test data downloaded into the provincial database. Those numbers will be reflected in Sunday’s daily update. Regina accounted for 16 of the 53 cases followed by the Central East zone with 14. 168 people are in hospital with 48 in an ICU. There are also an additional 12 Saskatchewan residents in ICUs outside of the province. Two new deaths were reported and the seven-day average is now at 117.
Below are the highlights posted to the Government of Saskatchewan’s website:
- As of November 13th, there are 53 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 79,387 reported cases.
- Due to a network issue on November 12, there was an incomplete COVID-19 test data download into the provincial database for November 13. This data will be included in the November 14 report.
- The new cases are located in the Far North West (3), North Central (3), Saskatoon (2), Central West (1), Central East (14), Regina (16), South West (1), South Central (2) and South East (7) zones and four (4) new cases have pending residence information.
- Three (3) cases with pending residence information were assigned to the Far North West (from November 11 (1)), North Central (from November 11 (1)), and South East (from November 11 (1)) zones.
- 79,387 cases are confirmed
- 19,373 cases are from the North area (8,613 North West, 7,957 North Central, 2,803 North East)
- 19,046 cases are from the Saskatoon area
- 15,594 cases are from the Regina area
- 9,771 cases are from the South area (2,137 South West, 2,891 South Central, 4,743 South East)
- 9,234 cases are from the Far North area (4,332 Far North West, 541 Far North Central, 4,361 Far North East)
- 5,801 cases are from the Central area (1,409 Central West, 4,392 Central East)
- 568 cases have pending residence information
- 1,324 cases are considered active and 77,170 cases are considered recovered.
- Almost two-fifths (37.7%) of new cases are in the age category of 20 to 39 age category.
- Almost one-third (31.8%) of new cases eligible for vaccination (aged 12 years and older) were fully vaccinated.
- As of November 13th, a total of 168 individuals are hospitalized; including 120 inpatient hospitalizations, and 48 ICU hospitalizations. Of the 168 patients, 108 (64.3%) were not fully vaccinated.
- In addition to SK ICUs, there are 12 residents in out-of-province ICUs. As these patients are receiving care out of province, this number is not included in the hospitalization counts in the dashboard. Since yesterday’s report, there has been one repatriation.
- Two (2) new deaths reported today. 893 Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died with a case fatality rate of 1.1%
- 1,250,196 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province. As of November 11, 2021, when other provincial and national numbers are available from PHAC, Saskatchewan’s per capita rate was 1,054,954 tests performed per million population. The national rate was 1,243,414 tests performed per million population.
- As of today, the 7-day average of new COVID-19 case numbers was 117 (9.7 new cases per 100,000).
