The Lieutenant Governor’s Meritorious Achievement Award was presented on Tuesday in Saskatoon to Thomas Robert Atkins, B.Sc., P.Eng., LEED® AP.
Lieutenant Governor Russ Merasty presented the award to Tom Atkins. In a news release Atkins was recognized for his 40 year career of engineering guidance in projects spanning Saskatchewan as well as across North America.
Atkins was a senior leader and key engineer in Stantec’s Saskatchewan and Canadian Buildings practice.
He was also instrumental in the Five Hills Regional Hospital in Moose Jaw which was the first hospital in Canada to employ the Integrated Project Delivery Model.
The $86 million project was completed in under 4 years, a year shorter than a traditional project delivery.
The Lieutenant Governor’s Meritorious Achievement Award recognizes a Saskatchewan resident for his or her outstanding achievements and contributions to the consulting engineering and geoscience industry in the province.
