The provincial opposition believe that lifting the public health orders would be a mistake.
The current public Health order is currently in effect until November 30.
NDP Leader Ryan Meili says that he is happy to see our case numbers dropping and that it would be premature to lift the orders before the new year.
“To do it prematurely is just to dangerous. In terms of any added restrictions we will be watching what the numbers are doing. Pleased to see they are dropping the way they are, hopefully that’ll continue.”
Premier Scott Moe said that a decision hasn’t been made and that meetings with the Chief Medical Health Officer and the Health Minister will take place in the near future. He says the evidence shows they are vey effective in dropping case numbers as well as hospitalizations and that the current public health orders should likely remain in place for another four to six weeks.
