Saskatoon City Council will meet this afternoon for their regular meeting. On the table for approval is to move ahead with implementing year-round schools zone, the addition of playground zones and axing school zones in and around high schools. Earlier this month, the City’s transportation committee adopted a number of recommendations surrounding school zones. Now the matter will head to City Council for final approval.
Also expected to be approved during the meeting is a solar farm project next to Circle Drive South near Montgomery Place. The total cost of that project is expected to be $4.25 million dollars with $2.6 million covered through government funding. The solar project would generate enough power for around 330 homes a year.
Council will meet virtually beginning at 1 o’clock this afternoon (Mon).
