A string of incidents in the Caswell Hill neighbourhood in October has lead to the local community association to write a letter to the Saskatoon Board of Police Commissioners. During the evenings of October 21st and 22nd, residents reported that three teens in their area were followed, chased, harassed and yelled at by strangers while they were out in the community. The incidents were posted to the Caswell Community Association’s Facebook group.
During last week’s Board of Police Commissioners meeting, Chief Troy Cooper said the incidents were likely not reported to police, although he says police will work with the community association to learn more about last month’s incidents. “We’re also going to be able to examine these specific offences and adjust resources as, with proactive policing measures as time allows.” During the meeting Cooper noted that property crime and crimes against people are on a downward trend in the Caswell area.
