One month away from the Christmas holiday season, N-D-P leader Ryan Meili is calling on the Sask Party Government to maintain the current Public Health Measures to combat COVID-19 through the holiday season.
Meili says Premier Scott Moe needs to fully commit to accepting the recommendations of provincial Chief Medical Health Officer, Dr. Saqib Shahab, in order to avoid the potential of a fifth wave.
Meili says by maintaining the current Public Health Measures in Saskatchewan, a sustainable level of patients in provincial I-C-Us could reduce the current burden on provincial health care capacity by late January.
That would allow those waiting on the resumption of surgical procedures to have them scheduled as staffing becomes less of an issue.
