The province has chosen. The vote tally from the public for USask’s fourth annual EcoHack event had the majority favouring a project called Celer by student Chi Vu.
The project is a proactive concept is designed to make sure good, nutritious food isn’t thrown away.
It’s an app that directs grocery shoppers to stores with discounted goods nearing the end of their life.
USask Senior Strategist, Julian Demkiw, says, “Providing practical experience for students to tackle issues that affect our community is one more way that we are always working towards being the university that our city needs.”
The City of Saskatoon partnered with the university on this EcoHack event.
