The Optimist Club of Saskatoon has decided they’ll no-longer be running the city’s Canada Day celebrations.
In a news release, the club said it has made the “difficult decision” to retire from organizing the annual event at Diefenbaker Park.
The news release went on to say that the club was “pleased to help their fellow citizens enjoy and celebrate” Canada.
Over the last three years, the club has taken on the role of operating a ski and toboggan hill at Diefenbaker Park.
There was no reason given as to why the club decided to back away from holding the annual festivities.
