The Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crime Unit South issued a warrant for the arrest of 22 year old Javon Moosomin on October 21st in connection to a homicide investigation. North Battleford RCMP responded to a report of a shooting in the 1200 block of 108th Street, where 33 year old Boyd Firingstoney of Mosquito First Nation was found dead.
Javon Moosomin is charged with second degree murder, five counts of pointing a firearm and one count of possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order. RCMP say Moosomin was located and arrested in Edmonton by the Edmonton Police Service last Friday. He will be transported to Saskatchewan to appear in court on these charges.
