Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the southern half of the province. It’s unseasonably mild today (Thurs), but a vigorous cold front is sweeping through tonight, bringing strong northwest winds and a sudden drop of temperatures. There will also be pockets of very poor visibilities in snow and blowing snow.

It will pass into Manitoba early tomorrow, but below normal temperatures and very cold wind chills will continue in its wake through the holiday weekend, and likely through the end of the year.
Environment Canada advises everyone who plans to travel to be aware of the weather where you are, along the route and at your destination.

The red regions of the map, which include Buffalo Narrows, Beauval, Ile a la Crosse, La Ronge, Prince Albert National Park, Narrow Hills Provincial Park and further east to Cumberland House, Pelican Narrows and Creighton have snowfall warnings with 10 to 15 cm expected by tomorrow (Fri) morning.
