The Southern half of the province is under an extreme cold warning including Prince Albert and Saskatoon. The eastern side of the province from Yorkton south to Estevan/Weyburn has extreme cold and snowfall warnings in place.

There are multiple delays for departures out of the Saskatoon John G. Diefenbaker Airport Monday morning.  Flight tracker FlightAware reports total cancellations on Sunday of 3,274.  Travel within, into, or out of the United States on Sunday, at 1517 cancellations, accounted for about a third of the total number.  Already today, 797 cancellations have occurred for travel within, into, or out of the United States.

And the highway hotline has travel not recommended on highways from Saskatoon southeastward down to Estevan and Weyburn including Regina.

Environment Canada says cold, arctic air remains entrenched over western and central Saskatchewan with wind chills of -40 to -45 being reported this morning. Extreme wind chill values of -40 to -50 are expected to persist throughout the week.
