Highway 20 is back open near Craven after a train derailment Tuesday night. It re-opened Wednesday afternoon. The derailment had blocked the highway by the Country Thunder Saskatchewan grounds. CP Rail issued a statement saying the freight train was carrying potash, and there were no injuries. The cause of the incident is under investigation.

A train derailment in Craven has blocked Highway 20 by the Country Thunder Saskatchewan grounds.

The incident occurred last night (tues).

Dayna Anderson, Deputy Mayor of the Village of Craven, says the cars were hauling potash.

The derailment occurred on a CP Rail line and CP has issued a statement confirming it is a freight train carrying potash.  As well, the rail company says there were no injuries nor any public safety concerns.

CP has dispatched crews and resources who are working to clean up the site.

The cause of the incident is under investigation.

The Village of Craven says for the forseeable future alternate routes to use are highways 99 and 6.

Craven is about 40 kilometres north of Regina.
