Over the New Year’s weekend paramedics with Parkland Ambulance responded to 141 incidents, including an injury from fireworks. A news release from Parkland Ambulance reports that paramedics responded to the Sturgeon Lake First Nation, where a 25 year old man lighting fireworks injured his hand. He was taken to hospital in good condition for further care.
On New Year’s Day, paramedics responded to Dent Crescent in Prince Albert where a man had fallen from his roof, trying to deal with a furnace issue, but the ladder gave way. He was taken to hospital in good and stable condition. The ambulance service urges everyone to always have someone supporting a ladder, and to try to avoid the roof this time of year if possible.
Paramedics also responded to numerous assaults around Prince Albert over the weekend.
